guess what i’ve been up to lately :D

apparently i look fat in this picture :( i say it’s the weighter. but i don’t care cause i love this pic! haha so yes i’ve made countless trips to the creek in these past two weeks, not always this one, there’re two other sites we gotta test. this is my site. the cleanest and easiest to get into :D anyways i took lotsa pics of the equipment we use to test the water, very cool stuff. i’ve even got a shot of bacteria food!
but
the darn bluetooth isn’t synching properly and i can’t transfer the pics, so another time ok? i promise i will!
i will be away on bio camp for the next 3 days :) i’m all packed ( i hope) and ready to take on mud and rocks and sand! and when i get back i have 3 assignment drafts due on the same date and one more right after my weekends, oh life is good >(

of protons and neutrons
alrights so my physics excursion was yesterday and i have to say that it was pretty boring and only got interesting at the end T.T the race track was in willowbanks which is like a one hour bus-ride away from school. i don’t like long journeys but watching cows and horses – through the unshaded window i might add, the sun was not kind to me that day – was pretty entertaining. we passed like so many meadowy grassy places with just vast nothingness x.x the place was pretty much in the middle of no where but i suppose it’s cause they need long stretches of road and stuff. it’s actually pretty cool, they give defensive driving courses and you get a special license if you pass. i think they’ve got drag racing too. too bad it’s so far away :(
anyways when we got off the bus, we took our seats in this warehouse place. it was really cold in there. man i’m giving off this picture of some kinda slaughterhouse, cold warehouse in the middle of nowhere hahah but no la it wasn’t like that. the first thing i noticed was this car, exposed at different parts to show the safety features. there was only half a windshield, the bonnet had this bright orange network lattice-like thing (darnit too much chemistry) and the car door had these huge spring thingamajigs. but you know what got me really excited? the fact that it was a proton!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i haven’t seen a proton ever since i got here and i really miss seeing them swarm the roads as they so often do in msia so yes, exciting! and guess what, all the other cars they use to test drive are protons! malaysia boleh woohoo!
or it could be because protons are cheap and it’s okay to risk crashing them…
…nvm malaysia still boleh
we were shown more slides of car crashes but this time with alot more detail as to what happens in a collision, and the latest safety features in cars (porshes always have the best gah). did you know that colliding into an immobile object like a pole or tree is ALOT more lethal than a moving vehicle? makes sense i guess but i honestly didn’t expect so much damage. there was a clip on this huge huge lorry hitting a short metal pole and omg. the whole front bit of the lorry just got decapitated. and then we were shown this picture of a car that had hit a tree. the guy was like “where do you think the other half of the car is?” and then in the next slide, we saw that it was on the other side of the tree. the car was literally wrapped around the tree o.o did you know that a difference of 5 km/h results in the difference between a minor and severe crash? and side collisions are the most dangerous? also you know how most of us like to loosen our seatbelts cause it’s just so uncomfortable having it constricted so tightly against you? (i tend to loosen it all the time) cause it’s loose, there’s been lotsa cases of drivers hitting the steering wheel and getting their nose and teeth broken (this is where there was a brief picture of a guy who loss all his front teeth T.T) in road accidents. it’s really sad lor, all it takes is a simple tug to make sure your seatbelt’s secure before making a move to prevent things like that from happening. anyways i didn’t type all this just for the fun of it, i really hope you guys drive safe on the road okay. don’t speed unnecessarily, wear your seatbelts properly because there’s such a high risk of getting hurt out there. even as a passenger. actually, especially as a passenger ;S
next up we headed over to the tracks where we got to estimate the speed of a proton (perdana :P), handle radar guns, check out the effectiveness of different brake types, boring stuff like that haha sorry la i’m not much of a car person and i wasn’t really paying attention. this old man was handling the session, really fit guy ok kudos to him. i referred to him as the old man :D friends were like wth old man? xD he didn’t even need a microphone or anything to speak to all of us. power!

spot the proton :D

the structure on the right’s called the grand stand lol. the rest of us were taking refuge under the shade. spot the proton again :D

spot a cloud, any cloud :D
i was really in awe when i saw the sky, there wasn’t a single cloud in sight, just this brilliant blue. but i think it’s also the cause of the place being really cold and bright at the same time x.x i’m oddly reminded of geography in form 3, hmm…
before we left, we got to ride in one of 3 cars, one of which was driven by the old man x) i didn’t end up in his car though but i heard he was the more boring and safe one out of the 3. okay, so 4 of us piled into the car where we’re told not to wear our seatbelts. the dude drives and goes “what happens if you don’t wear your seatbelts?” *slams brakes* and we’re all thrown forward in shock and eyes like O.O then we wear our seatbelts and he speeds real quick and then abruptly brakes again. then we go on wet grass where he does the same thing again. towards the end he goes “what saves you from a side-on collision?” and before either of us could even say anything he swerves left and right and we start screaming. yup it was good fun.

the blue car’s the one i was in. the old man’s the driver of the white one behind it :D
and that about sums up my trip :) i’m gonna sleep now because i gotta be in school extra early tmrw. sigh i’ve not woken up at 6.30 am for as long as i can remember. it’s gonna be really hard getting out of bed :(

cookie
i know there’s been an obvious absence lately but i’ve been really busy with school. apart from maths, i’ve got no exams this term. instead we’re given assignments and it’s really no fun receiving them all at the same time :( they’re really tough and the tasksheets are so scary sighsigh. for physics i will be looking really really deeply into the physics behind car safety; the trip to the race track’s this monday. chemistry’s all about testing water quality, will be making a few trips to the creek. bio’s related to camp which is coming up at the end of the month. i’m gonna be slushing through muddy mangrove swamps, yo. as much fun as it all sounds there’s so many criterias as to how i gotta do my write ups it’s such a mind messer. i love how i make up new words at the spur of the moment mwahaha.
my poetry essay is dangerously unfinished. i decided to switch to w.h. auden’s poem the night before the draft due date because lets face it, i think i’ve read the phrase “shall i compare thee to a summer’s day” one too many times and to think i have to write a whole essay analysing how shakespear represents love in any of his 14-lined sonnets’ just insane ok. i think i’ve handled enough thees and thous for a lifetime x.x and for legal i’ve gotta look up on two crime articles which is great except it’s gotta be focused in queensland only >( so far the most interesting one i’ve found’s an ex attempting to kill his ex with a samurai sword o.o scary world we live in. alright no more on my school work i promise :D for this post at least.
i’m really hungry now so i think i’m gonna blog about food. because right, i’m like darn lazy to get off my chair and walk all the way to the kitchen now so maybe all this talk and pictures about food will tempt me enough to not be the lazy arse i am :D
okay let me introduce the apple cream turnover which i have at least once a week, sometimes twice. confirm put on weight the next time you see me x) i can’t help it okay it’s heavenly stuff. as the name suggests, it’s basically a pastry (with some kinda really addictive sugar coating) folded around chopped apples and cream.

one time i was eating this while walking around the supermarket and this old man came up to me, “careful now, you’ll get fat and then the boys won’t kiss you!” i was so taken aback i started laughing haha. funny old man :P
(my legs are so stubborn darnit i’m still here)
okay next up! there’s this ice cream stall in town. they serve traditional homemade italian gelati and sorbets but i just call them all ice cream cause it makes life alot easier. and they’re really really good! i know i’m using this word way too often but if any of you come visit i’ll definitely take you to this place. it’s really reasonably priced and they give such generous servings. allow me to demonstrate.

this is my honey, cinnamon and banana scoop.

this was during mother’s day. i love how there’s still so many people getting ice cream whilst bundling in jackets and scarves cause it’s so cold outside x)
okay i give up, the laziness in me wins this time. no food till tomorrow.
it’s chaplaincy week this week and they’ve got events every lunch time. two days ago this guy, chris wayne came over and entertained us with a magic and comedy show :) really funny guy

quite a huge turn out over at the q block and sorry the pic’s so blur :( he looks like he’s bald.
oh and i’m so happy the american idol finals’ a battle between the davids! i think they’re both awesome but i’m a huge david cook fan <3 i love his version of billie jean and i can’t believe he sang a switchfoot song!! <3
okays i think i’m gonna end this really random post. it’s getting pretty late and my hands are really cold T.T oh and this guy eric left a comment over at my panic post which is pretty far back so i’ll post the link here so you guys can check it out too. click. it’s panic’s live concert in nyc and brendon looks like a schoolboi! xD thanks for the link :) have a great week ppl

chyeah
these past few days have been a blur. i was a few steps away, oblivious to how those next few steps would be harder than the half mile walk i made to get there. i didn’t make the last few steps. i don’t like poetry or defining love and i think interpreting poetry should be left to the authors who came up with such intricateness in the first place. i said yes, but it was a no in all honesty. i’m still bummed over how the moments spent choosing the perfect card and filling it up with the perfect words are all for nothing because of the crappiness of airmail. i miss the encouragement. i open up the leafy pages and the words don’t make sense to me anymore. i’m holding on to what i think is a reason to believe. when i said i wasn’t busy, i was but there you were asking for help and i just can’t find it in myself to say no. emails in my inbox date two months back but that reply button remains unclicked. give me a better reason to believe.

on a totally unrelated note, here’s one person who makes my day a whole lot brighter.

happy mother’s day to all mothers out there :)
