bio camp
i’m growing plants this term for bio! can you sense the excitement haha why am i so weird. i actually really dreaded this term because i honestly don’t give two darns about plants. i remember in form 4 and 5, i loved reading the human anatomy bits but there’s always stuff about plants at the end of the chapter which annoyed me so much x.x so imagine my joy when it was announced that this term’s gonna revolve around plants, and part of my assignment’s to actually grow them whoopteedoo.
but i had a lot of fun today planting the seeds =x i’ve never actually grown anything before… all this while it’s been green beans on wet cotton swabs which is so sad. no proper soil or anythin. so yes i will be sharing this exciting experience in the form of pictures when they start growing :D
before that i just realised that i totally forgot to post pics on bio camp so there you go

on the bus on the ferry. it was like a 45 minute ferry ride and it was SO windy.
.

a little detour walk we made before reaching the campsite. the place is called point lookout and the view was amazing. those tiny specks are surfers
.

.

blurry entourage
.

my group’s first study site, it’s actually the beach in the second picture.
.

.

.

.

tom and rikki – i’m not sure what they’re doing haha
.

footprints on the soft soft sand
.

that’s jack in front of the sand slope! :D
.

.

i love these pictures. the beach is so gorgeous, and it was undoubtedly my favourite part of the trip. the only downside was the really really strong wind. it was almost impossible to even hold our notebooks still to write on. at the point of these last two pics, it was about to rain, hence the dark clouds and we were walking back in the direction of the wind. and because it was so strong it blew sand like right through us. and i was having a screaming fit along with everyone else wearing shorts because it hurt so bad okay like hundreds of thorns pricking you x.x long pants. always long pants.
.

my bed in the really sad excuse of a room.
.

rachel’s in-your-face sleeping bag :)
.

ooh shiny shiny
.
alright that’s it. i didn’t take any pics in the mangrove swamp which wasn’t even half as pleasant as the beach. and it didn’t help that rain started pouring halfway through and we had to run back into the bus muddy and drenched :’( but i gotta say camp was really fun… in a strange way :)

and that’s how the cookie crumbles
chemistry this term’s all about mining. the teacher came into class last friday with two bags of cookies, set them on the table and with a big smile on her face, said that the day’s task was biscuit mining. chocolate chip cookie mining to be exact.

my mining site, my paperclip tools and chocolate chip ore corner :) the tiny words at the bottom say:
profit – $50 clean choc chip
- $20 unclean choc chip
it was heartbreaking digging into the cookies cause they smelled so so goood :( and there were like 25 choc chips in that one small cookie, i kid you not! as with real mining, we were supposed to maintain the shape of the cookie and not disrupt it too much. this proved to be the most challenging bit. some classmates totally disregarded this and just smashed the cookie and picked up the chips haha. we were rewarded a cookie at the end of the lesson (one we didn’t have to dig into but actually consume) and gosh, it was sucha good cookie <3
i finally understand why my physics teacher has a “i believe in harvey dent” sticker on his laptop.
i just got back a while ago from the dark knight. 2 and a half hours; heads up to anyone who’s yet to watch it. it is long, indeed. i know the movie’s received really good reviews and i do think it was an awesome production. the kind that has you on the edge of your seat throughout and eventually leaves you dumbfounded at the end. i just find it a lil dark (lyk duh the title’s a bit of a give away) for my liking. it really wasn’t like any ordinary superhero movie what with the unfolding of the story and the ending. neways i don’t wanna spoil it for anyone. watch it, if you haven’t. kids shouldn’t though, it’ll be confuzzling and scary.
it’s a shame heath ledger isn’t alive to witness his remarkable acting :( and christian bale is so yummy >) almost like a cookie hmm…

look down yonder
first day of school was sucha drag. it’s the back-to-school blues, definitely. my day and week has just been an array of randomness.
physics this term’s another assignment around the topic of “stimulating the senses” which excited a lot of the guys in class but that was quickly pressed down when we were told that by senses, it meant light or sound. in a physics context, why of course. this proceeded to slideshows of optical illusions and a preview of the world’s most annoying sounds, literally. google it there are such websites i have no idea why but yeah T.T
optus was down all day so i couldn’t make any calls agh apparently it’s cause of some guy but i didn’t read the news.
i received my new timetable today and didn’t realise anything different till a friend mentioned that we have a different english teacher o.o usually they give out a million timetables supposedly changed but they’re always exactly the same so i didn’t really look twice when i got my new one. nobody knew who this new teacher was and outside our english class while waiting we were going do you think she’s nice? i hope she’s young. why’s that? because young teachers are like so much nicer and less judgmental. not true! it sorta is.
turns out she’s new and today was her first day haha. no wonder nobody knew who she was. but she’s nice… apparently i have a pretty name so all’s good :D oh and no, she wasn’t young :P
i dunno why or how but somehow the topic of bank accounts sprung into a conversation i had during english and i remember recalling said conversation when i made a surprise visit to the bank after school. hmm…
to kill a mocking bird is actually a really good book. i know i ranted about it a lot in the past but it’s worth a read :) and watch the movie too, even if it’s in b&w. speaking of movies, jumper was such a disappointment x.x sorry but i think hayden christensen wrecks movies, or maybe i just don’t like him… >(
if you enjoy youtube as much as i do, try search kevjumba and watch his vids :) he’s an american chinese (i think). i’ve watched em all and he’s darn funny! he recently challenged jessica alba to a stare contest and she actually responded! that vid’s up on youtube as well. also, search happyslip and check out her vids. she’s an aspiring actress and her reenactments of her mom, dad, grandmother and aunty are really funny stuff. all the different characters in her vids are played by her. and notice how their outfits are always the same :P go for a good laugh especially when you’re stressed out :D

green anatomy
i love the grey’s season 4 finale. was that candle bit at the end not the sweetest thing ever? click :) try catch meredith saying “stupid brainman” haha i dunno i just find that phrase hilarious. there’s never been a happy season final; i was expecting something emo and sad but apart from the whole torres kissing hahn scene, it was a perfect ending! i almost want the series to end there. almost. because how can one live without a lil grey’s anatomy in their lives.
i’ve only recently been taught how to drive a stick shift and it is only then that i truly embraced the awesomeness of auto cars ;S i’ve stalled a grand total of 6 times over two lessons – which i’ve been told isn’t so bad but driving now seems like torture T.T how did you guys get through it? aghgh okay maybe i need more time. i’ve only had a go twice, i need time. yes more time *hopes and happy thoughts* i have a really nice instructor though. when i had to move my seat forward like 3 times (my foot cannot push the clutch properly, yes laugh -.-) he went “don’t worry, i’m short too” which is… comforting i suppose.
i recently went to southbanks and the city, lotsa walking my legs hurt just recalling it. oh hancock was not bad, but i think the storyline’s weird. but go watch it anyway because charlize theron is so nice to oggle at *O*
.

pretty fountain!
.

okay i have a funny story :P before i took this picture there were these two guys, i think from the phillipines, one of em stood on that block the sculpture’s sitting on and wound his arm around the shoulders of the uh woman for a picture. very funny la his pose and facial expression and i think he didn’t realise that the sculpture’s head was staring directly at that…spot. i couldn’t help lol-ing.
.

happy purchase! :D
.
managed a quick stop over at the state library cause i’ve been told it’s really nice. by quick i mean real quick because i wasn’t in much of a reading mood. it was more of a check-out-the-place visit. and it is so awesome!! it’s the perfect study spot. it’s 5 stories high, loads of desks with reading lamps and comfy sofas and seats, meeting rooms (which is basically a glass enclosed room you can make noise in), auditoriums, security cameras o.O. only downside is that no food’s allowed :( that just takes away a lot of the fun doesn’t it?

.

just a very small corner of the massive library.
come to think of it, i don’t think i’ve ever been to the national library in msia o.o so sad la haha. sucha deprived malaysian. i shall end this post with two types of bottled cucumbers i found some time ago in the supermarket. because i cannot get anymore random than this. what’s the chances of tim reading this. L.O.C :P

:D have a great weekend ppl.
