celebrate :D
cause i’m on holiday :D and i’ve since been hooked on the death note series no thanks to the sister! 4 books within these 2 days oh noes.
went over to the city yesterday with kaytee which was a pretty hectic affair. we kinda got lost upon arrival at central station but we managed to find our way to queen st where there was this massive crowd. we were right on time for the beijing olympics athlete parade :D it’s sorta this welcome back parade for the aussie olympians and i think they’re gonna drop by every state. the athletes were on toyata hilux-s and driven by in accordance to the sports they’re involved in. we weren’t intending to watch the parade but since we were right there, might as well right x)

just noticed that the collar of the dude in front of us has the word new zealand lol!
.

lotsa streamers and confetti (in yellow and green of course :P)

because they blocked off the road for the parade it was almost impossible to get over the other side till the end of the parade. when it finally did, we hopped over to a manga shop sarah told me about. my sis was a very happy girl at the end of the visit let’s just put it at that :)

breathe
i’m finally finally free from assignments, exams, essays and plant growing this term. as i’m nearing the holidays i find myself unable to believe that i’m gonna be going into term 4 soon. did i really go through 3 terms already? time flies but then again, it doesn’t. not really. i feel like i’m in this state of…indifference? my head is swirling with so many thoughts but i can’t pinpoint what exactly. maybe i need all that assignments and work keeping me busy to stop me from thinking so much.
i often get asked if i’m going back to malaysia anytime soon. i want to. but then again, not really. as much as i miss everything back there, i’m going to miss it even more knowing that it’s changed. it would be ridiculous to think that it’s exactly where i left off. people change, characters differ, places that used to feel like second home will leave me with a sense of unfamiliarity. or maybe the return would be welcoming, like it’s been waiting for me all this time with arms wide open, as corny as that sounds. but then i would be leaving it all over again.
a couple of days ago a bunch of us were huddled around a table in the library right after our math paper. conversations swayed from ncis, grey’s anatomy, bi-s in school (shocking revelations!!!!!), random questions like “what if someone fails in a survival course?”, macbeth (because english was the very next day). the whole time my fingers were clapsed around my trusty bright green shaker that’s since replaced the not so trusty black one i dropped at the mangrove swamp over in straddie during bio camp. i was doing that twisty pencil thing with my fingers. i remember annie suddenly grabbing my pencil and trying to twist it with her fingers too and failing pretty hilariously. her eyes shot wide open when she noticed the springy bit in my pencil weighing it from left to right.
“what’s this?!”
“ah that would be a…shaker?”
i remember immediately thinking are you kidding me, they don’t have shakers here? i don’t really go stationary shopping here. upon explaining and demonstrating the genius-ness behind the shaker she exclaimed that she officially loves malaysian stuff. sigh i felt so proud of malaysia at that moment. yes that’s the whole point of this flashback :) but seriously man, they don’t have shakers… i probably own the most advanced pencil in the school…or possibly the country o.o i deserve a prize. like maybe another shaker.
please don’t spoil this by saying that shakers are from japan.
