logged into wordpress and i noticed a sudden spike in my blogstat graph thingymajig, over 400+ views in a day which is weird because i haven’t been updating much lately =\ and then i saw this

anyways my last day of school was thursday and eventful, it was. i only had one paper and it starts late so i just hung out at home before leaving for school. piled up the car with all my textbooks to return, only to realise that the car won’t start *O* stood there in helpless panic, watch telling me i only had 15 minutes before my paper. walking there would take me 40. that’s when the coolest neighbour ever came to the rescue and drove me to school just in time to sit for the most time consuming paper ever. ever ever, love that word.

thursday was also the day of our semi-formal! :D bronwyn dropped by my place, we picked up naomi and rachel and were on our way to southbanks. the semi was on “the island” which is a boat for party cruises and such. i really hate taking pictures with flash cause it ends up killing everyone’s eyes so i chose the ISO option which is supposed to be good for low light conditions without flash but most of the pics wound up being really blur :( i just got the camera, it’s a sony t70, any suggestions on what setting i should use the next time around? =\ anyways here are some of the pictures :)

A British 19-year-old has officially changed his name to “Captain Fantastic Faster Than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk And The Flash Combined.”

The Glastonbury, England, teenager — originally named George Garratt — said his new name, which is thought to be the world’s longest, has so outraged his grandmother that she is no longer speaking to him, The Telegraph reported Monday.

The teen said he used an online service to officially change his name for a $20 fee.

“I wanted to be unique,” Captain Fantastic said of his name choice. “I decided upon a theme of superheroes.”

so the cats are here and they’re safe :) they’re settling in really well, duchess has been sneezing alot though, which i didn’t think was possible till now. it’s really cute but i’m getting a lil worried. and what’s worse is that i think she’s allergic to me. she’ll be fine till i go near here and she gets these sneeze fits. what does this mean :( what cat’s allergic to their owner!? sigh. so here i am, finally updating and 20 feet away from my own cat T.T

i got three assignments done this weekend so i’m pretty happy. of course that means my halloween was uneventful :( i thought it would be all cool and ghouly here but it turns out it’s no different from msia. there were no cute kids dressed up in costumes knocking on my door, and i’ve got so much spare candy too! oh wells. i’ll have to get a costume soon though, for the semi-formal. any suggestions on what i should dress up in? i’m completely clueless ;S and no hamburgers bryan -.-

yes this bryan. i snuck(ed?) a read at the costumes list from this flyer during english and couldn’t help laughing at the transverstite option for guys xD almost blew my cover but the teacher was busy she didn’t notice hehe. i’ve got to do a presentation on tourism about any country this term and guess which i chose. surprise, surprise hehe i am one true malaysian lah :) anyways i’ve prepared a whole speech that i think would make the government really proud. stuff that will prolly make msians roll their eyes at but them aussies go oooh!

i cannot believe it’s november already. it only hit me yesterday. this year went by so quickly i feel like it’s playing tricks on me. and november brings with it the u.s presidential elections! fingers crossed for obama. wasn’t that prank on sarah palin the funniest thing? heheh. of course, the 4th of november is no ordinary day here in aus either. i only really recently found out about the melbourne cup. it’s basically a horse race and it’s super huge they actually get a holiday in melbourne! and the entire state of victoria. but is this applied to every school in aus? well, of course not x.x to be honest i don’t get the whole excitement about horse racing i mean, most of them don’t even know the racers… or riders. but they’re really enthusiastic about it and it’s been a tradition. today i was walking into the physics lab and i noticed the teacher wearing a suit, complete with coat and tie. plus it was like 50 degrees outside. so obviously i asked why the suit, to which he replied, “the melbourne cup of course! all the teachers are dressed up for it, awesome day!”

and dressed up, they were. the best were the female teachers, they came in cute dresses and those fancy hats you see in cocktail parties. i’m not really sure what the resemblance is to the actual event but i believe i’m gonna be seeing lotsa these in the future.

what is it with november and important events eh? ;) i leave you now with a picture of a REALLY hot day in the school field cause someone had the brilliant idea of having the entire school come together to spell the school initials and then get a plane to fly over to snap a picture. woulda been brilliant if it wasn’t so darn hot. the red thing on my head is no hat, it’s a marker that was used to guide us on where we were supposed to stand and my pals over there thought it would be funny putting it on my head.
